Who Are The Burlington Lions
The Burlington Lions Club is one of over 45,000 Lions Clubs throughout the world. All clubs are members of Lions Club International, a non-profit organization made up men and woman who volunteer their time for fund-raising activities to benefit their communities.
Lions Club International was founded in Chicago in 1917. Although it is the youngest major service club organization, it has grown to be the world’s largest. More than 1.4 million members belong to clubs in more than 180 countries and geographical locations.
The Burlington Lions Club was charted in 1968 by the Unionville, CT Lions Club. In keeping with the organization’s motto “We Serve”, the Burlington Lions strive to help those in need, wherever need exists. We are especially committed to the youth of our community, as evidenced by our sponsorship of youth basketball, Scouting, and other programs for young people.
